Preparing for Baby Girl Take 2.

Standard

There are lots of little things and sometimes big things that we are doing every day to prepare for our baby girl.  Bekkett is SO CUTE.  He sees pictures of little babies, kids around the stores, even in strollers outside and he says, “BABY!”  Then I ask him “Baby Who?”  “Baby Sissy.”  How he says sissy is the cutest thing!  I don’t think that he really understands what is really going to happen in the next couple of months, but we are trying to get him excited.  Here are some cute things that we are doing as a family to prepare for Baby Girl to come to our family.

Image

Bekkett LOVES to play with and hold his little cousin Xander.  This night, he was seriously so cute with Baby X and kept holding his arms out to hold him.  DARLING!

Image

Taking our weekly pictures…sometimes together, sometimes not.  He was so cute!  “Bekkett, where is Mommy’s button?”

Image

Hanging out and “taking care of” Nemo.  Nemo only has one eye, hence the name Nemo.  It is a little creepy, but Bekkett doesn’t know the difference! 😉

Bekkett paints with water and colors while I craft some bows up for the beautiful baby girl.

We went to TJ Maxx to get some frames to make a collage for Baby Girls room.  I had to pee(surprise) and this is what I saw when I came out of the bathroom.  Dogs are a mans best friend.

We got this little chair for Bekkett’s room because he LOVES to sit in the chair and read.  When baby girl comes, we will have to move the rocker from his room to her room, so we got him this cute chair so that there is something JUST for him.

I hope that the preparations that we make now will help Bekkett transition into a big brother and to help welcome Baby Girl into our family and into this world.

After Christmas Festivities.

Standard

Since Christmas came and went so quickly, I thought life would slow down a bit.  Who am I kidding?  We just find more fun things to do.  On New Year’s Eve was our beloved Grandme Marble’s funeral.  It was a sad and hard day, but my heart rejoices in knowing that she is with Grandpa Marble and Uncle Brian again.  I am sure they are busy with the work on the other side, but never too busy to be my baby doll’s “Angel Friends”.  I am grateful for the many angel friends that Bekkett is blessed with to watch over him when I can’t always do so.

New Year’s Day, we ended up going Snowshoeing.  It was a really fun, but a little bit short lived because of a few things.  A: I am super out of shape. B: I am super out of shape. and C: I am super out of shape.  Oh, and Bekkett was freezing(we didn’t know how freezing he really was until we got back to the car and he just cried for about 10 minutes while his feet and hands thawed out.  And then he passed right out.  Haha.  Poor guy, we had bought him snow boots over Christmas and everything, but they obviously didn’t do the trick, unfortunately.  But, anyways, it was a good time, and hopefully next time will be better! 🙂

While we got stuck in NC, Bekkett had his 18 month wellness check that we postponed for the new year and here he is at his check.  95%+ for weight, 95% height and 75% for head. He is such a big boy and he makes me smile every day!

Here are a few photos of the adventures of Bekkett man and the things I find him doing when no one is around.

And since the New Year, we have been preparing for Baby Girl to get here too.  We got a new stroller for Bekkett and baby sissy(how he says baby sissy is SO CUTE!) Image

And he is obviously THRILLED with his new ride.  He just kept climbing in and out of it so he could watch a show while sitting down.  Haha.  What a funny boy.  Image

We finished her quilt.  The bright orange is more of a melon color.  We also set up her crib and laid her blanket in the crib.  Now, we just need to get a crib mattress for it! 🙂

And this is Bekkett and me at 27 weeks.

There is more of the New Year to come, and I will finish doing those posts tomorrow sometime! 🙂  YAY!  What a fun and exciting New Year this is already turning out to be!

Christmas…a little late.

Standard

I wanted to make sure to post a few pictures of Christmas, because it was a WONDERFUL one.  Sadly, we didn’t take very many pictures.  But, here are a few that we do have.  Christmas Eve morning was a busy one for us.  Having just flown in from NC the day before, we had lots of loose ends to tie up before heading over the Gram and Gramps to make Christmas candy.  It started with a trip to Walmart and a delicious breakfast as our little family.

 Image

The Christmas Eve festivities were entertaining, as always, with a few extra laughs.  Image

The kids love their Grampa!

Greg was the lucky recipient of the “Almost a Dundy” award, courtesy of Shandi and Eric Ditlevsen family.  Image

And Bekkett and Nikayla were buddies, as always.

Christmas morning was pretty fun, even though Bekkett still doesn’t quite get what is really going on.  He had had a lot of practice unwrapping his “book a days” before Christmas, so he loved opening the gifts and finding out what was inside.  It was a wonderful morning, along with a delicious meal with the Marble side of the family and then we headed down to Salt Lake for the rest of the week.

By 10 AM, Bekkett was tuckered out!  And so was mom and dad, but Santa found some tasty treats to put in our stockings and they helped to keep us awake.

It was a wonderful Christmas week and we were surrounded by many whom we love dearly.  But, it was really nice when the end of the week came to a close and we were able to head home and be HOME as our little family again.  It was a long and busy December full of many blessings and amazing people who bless our lives daily!  This Christmas season, we were truly counting our blessings and thanking our Father in Heaven for everything He has provided for us!  Hope your holiday was equally enjoyable!  MUCH LOVE!

Traveling to North Carolina.

Standard

The Sunday that Greg got to North Carolina.  I got a picture text from Aunt Sue of Greg with my favorite dogs ever!  Sue and I got texting and she had a GENIUS idea that I should bring Bekkett out to NC and surprise Greg when he got off of the trail.  I was SUPER excited and definitely wanted something to help keep my mind off of not seeing Greg for so long.  Also, Maggie, Greg’s cousin was giving us a hard time that we were having another baby when she hadn’t even met Bekkett yet.  So, Monday morning before Greg got off of the trail, Bekkett and I went on an adventure of our own and traveled to NC to surprise Greg.

Image

Thanks to the help of MANY people, the traveling part of our trip was a cinch!  Bekkett was seriously SO GOOD.  On our long flight, we were surrounded by LDS missionaries just leaving the MTC going to their fields of labor.  They LOVED Bekkett and that kept Bekkett entertained.  We got to our gate in Atlanta and before we even took off, Bekkett was asleep in his own seat.

We got to Sue and Graham’s house and Bekkett was in HEAVEN.  His favorite were the “PUPPAS” and the “kicky”.(Dogs and the cat).

Image

Boomer didn’t care what Bekkett did to him, but Lucy wasn’t so fond of him…UNTIL Bekkett learned how to play fetch.  From that point on, Lucy was at Bekkett’s side at ALL times.  She loved playing fetch with Bekkett and Bekkett loved to play with her.  It was pretty cute.

Tuesday we loaded up and went up to base with Graham.  We were initially just going to pick up the Subaru, but when we got to Lake Toxaway, we realized we didn’t have the key.  We made the rest of our way up to base(after pulling over for a carsickness break on my part).  We walk into base and Betty told me that Greg had no clue we were in NC…he had had her put a letter in the mail the day before.

While we waited for Graham to do her work, Bekkett played in office, eating yummy Christmas treats that had been sent to the office, playing with a beautiful stray dog named Jamba, and playing the office instruments.

Betty said to Graham, “You know that Greg is downstairs, right?”  Graham said, “I know, I am debating on whether I should have him come up.”  So, she called him up and we surprised Greg, completely!  He walked in and she told him she had a surprise for him and it was in the office (where we were).  He walked in and said, “Shut Up!”  We got to spend about 15 minutes together and then he had to go back to his group.  But, we were so excited to see him and it was a great surprise.

The next day, we went up again and hung out on base, throwing rocks into the pond, hanging out with the horses, and waiting for Greg to get off the trail.  Once he was done, we got loaded up and went into Brevard for lunch.  We were all starving.  We ate at a cute little place called “Square Root” and we loved it.  Image

The rest of our trip was filled with eating more, talking, driving, missing our flight, getting a flight the SUNDAY before Christmas Eve, walking, exploring, playing with the dogs, driving, seeing Zach and Jae’s beautiful family, spending lots of time with family and THAT is what made the trip the very best!  We are so grateful for Sue, Graham, and Maggie for their love and hospitality.  They didn’t blink twice when we impeded on the days before their Christmas celebrations.  We love you all very much!

Auntie SueSue was thrilled that Bekkett finally hung out with her and sat on her lap.  He loves his Auntie SueSue.

And, with that, we made it back to our home at 4 PM the day before Christmas Eve.  What an adventure that we will NEVER forget!

Before Daddy’s NC trip.

Standard

When we were preparing for Greg to leave for almost 2 weeks, we decided we needed to go and enjoy Temple Square and see the lights.  It was SUCH a fun day.  We went shopping to finish Bekkett’s Christmas shopping off.  We had dinner with our dear friends Dave, Heidi, and Hudson.  Then we all strolled through temple square even though it was snowing.  We took our time, but not too much time for the little kiddos to get too cold.  It really was a perfect day to kick off our holiday and to spend some time together before Greg left.

Here is a collage of our day together.  Image
