Bekkett’s Big Birthday Bash.

Standard

Once in a lifetime, every person turns 1.  Even though Bekkett won’t remember that birthday, I hope that he will look back on these photos and know how much he is loved.  I wanted to make it a fun party for all involved, so here is what we came up with.

INVITATIONS:

The invitations that we got were PERFECT for the Theme that we chose…bright colored banners.  We found these at the one and only Paper Coterie and they turned out SO cute!  I was IN LOVE from the second I created them on the screen!

DECOR and FOOD SETUP:

WELCOME to Mr. Bekkett’s Birthday Bash!

My delectable chocolate dome from Kneaders.

“What up ladies?”  Should I be nervous, I am nervous…already flirting out of the car window. 😉

Bekkett!  You are loved!  From the day you were born, you have brought so much joy into your family’s life!  You make the world happier whenever you are around.  That smile could take away any frown, and we have been blessed to have you in our lives!  I pray that the coming years will bring even more happiness and joy, that I will be blessed with more patience, love and understanding, and that we will make each day a better day than yesterday!  Happy 1st Birthday Superman!  You are LOVED!

Mr. B’s Big Day.

Standard

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

That is how the morning began.  Bekkett slept in until 8:15!  He didn’t even wake up for a bottle at 6:30, as usual.  I went in and got him out of his crib, after having sung HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him.  And this is how the rest of the day ensued.

I tried to get him to wear his birthday crown.  He was obviously NOT having it.

Dad got home from class and we got ready to go to BREAKFAST.  Jessica , my sister, is at Girl’s Camp and so Shandi and I have been balancing her boys between the two of us.  Here is a cute picture of the three boys buckled in the back of my car on their way over yesterday.  Image

Deagan came to breakfast with us, and here is how much Bekkett liked Kneaders.

Birthday Breakfast at Kneaders.  French toast, cream and berries.  He obviously loved it.

After breakfast, we made our way over to Shandi’s house to pick up Jens and then we were all heading over to Ryan’s Play Place.  As this day began, I had very tender feelings of how I felt a year ago, as I have looked at the clock and remembered everything that happened a year ago today, I have had multiple tears of PURE JOY because of the wonderful memories that this past year has brought to our family.  As I think about Bekkett, I am SO LUCKY to be blessed to be his mommy and I am grateful for my little buddy.

We truly enjoyed our time at Ryan’s Play Place, as shown.

Dad got stuck a little in the slide.  But that didn’t keep us from having fun.

We pushed all of the kids pretty hard all day, and when we got in the car, Bekkett passed out.  We took him and Deagan back home and they both took good naps.  I took Deagan back over to Tremonton so that he could go to his T-Ball game.  On our way back to Logan, Bekkett passed out in his seat again and I got a really cute photo of him.

We had Thai food for dinner and he loved it.  Image

And a chocolate dome from Kneaders to top it off.  Needless to say, I sucked at my diet/competition today!  AND WHO CARES!  It was all to celebrate THIS amazing little man!  Image

Bekkett, today was an AMAZING day with you and I hope that as you look back on this day, you will feel loved!  I can’t wait to PARTY again on Saturday with all of our extended family.  Mr. Man, you have changed my life forever and I am blessed to be your mommy!  I LOVE YOU FOREVER!

Heros.

Standard

Heros come in all shapes and sizes.  They are big and small.  Some have capes.  Others wear glasses.  Some have big muscles.  Some wear sandals.  Some are extraordinary.  But, every day, I see, in the eyes of a child and through my own eyes, a hero.  It doesn’t matter what we are doing, what he is wearing, where we are, as I see Bekkett look at his daddy, I know how much he loves him.

Yesterday, as we were getting ready to leave to drop Greg off for Ragnar, Bekkett sat on his daddy’s lap and looked up at him and did everything that his dad did.  Greg would wave his hand, Bekkett would wave his hand, Greg would squeeze his arm, Bekkett would squeeze his arm.  At that moment, I knew that Bekkett and I had made the perfect gift for Father’s day.

Image

I wanna “B” like you.  I can see that in Bekkett’s face when he is with his daddy.  He looks up to him and tries to do what he does.

Gregory John Ostler.  Thank you for being such a wonderful daddy to our baby boy!  We could not ask for any better!  We love you forever!  How lucky are we?

Events of TODAY.

Standard

Today started out as a beautiful day at the Ostler home.  BRIGHT AND EARLY.  We got to watch Syd this morning, so I left on a run around 6 and when I got home, Syd had just got there.  That meant that Bekkett thought that he needed to be awake too.  Here is a cute photo of him this morning.  Image

This is his alternative to sticks.  3 pens in one hand, 2 in the other.  So cute.

This afternoon, this beauty occurred.  Image

Thankfully, that isn’t me.  I have never had stitched in my life(knock on wood), except for when I had my knee surgery, which I was completely out for, so I don’t remember it.  So, here is the story.

We had gone out grocery shopping and had bought a 5 lb bag of cheese.  Greg hadn’t eaten breakfast today, so he was starving.  I was getting everything ready for tacos when I hear, “Oh, my word.”  And there is Greg bending over the sick looking like he was about to pass out.  I inspected it and told him we were going to the Instacare.  If any of you know me, I don’t do blood.  I was very impressed that my motherly instincts kicked in so that I could take care of G money.  First thought, “Call Shandi.  Wait she is in Tremonton.  Steph?  New baby?  Oh well, only other option in an emergency.”  No answer from Steph, so we loaded Bekkett up and went to the Instacare.  Greg fed B lunch while holding his finger and I drove.  He went and checked into the Instacare while I finished feeding B.

Bekkett was very restless because he was ready for a nap, so while G was getting stitched up, I went and drove around(with the EMPTY GAS LIGHT ON) for about 45 minutes.  I was pretty impressed with the process.  Here is what I missed.

Irrigating the wound.

Seeing how deep he got it.

6 stitches later. Lovely.  Get feeling better G!

PS He was opening a bag of cheese with a dull knife.  Avoid the dull knives! 😉

JUNE Day 11: Street.

Standard

Image

This is the beauty that is on the street just outside my front door.  It has been there for over a month and I have thought about calling the city 100 times to have them come and clean it up, since they were the ones that put it there, but I haven’t called yet.  I DO want it gone before Bekkett’s birthday party, so I am going to try to get to the bottom of this today! 🙂

Here is a cute picture that I took of B today.  Enjoy.Image

My Life…

Standard

Hello there and sorry for the recent absence.  Life has been crazy between DownEast warehouse sales and working there, being mommy, applying for Medical Transcription jobs, being wifey, and everything else that I call MY LIFE.  I was wondering what I would do tonight…genius idea popped into my head.  BLOG!  It has been far too long and I have definitely missed it.  I decided to walk you through a day in MY LIFE, which is today.

This morning my alarm went off at 6AM to go on a 4 mile run before heading to DE to clean up the warehouse sale.  I turned off my alarm and immediately slipped back into my slumber to have ONE bizarre dream and ONE great dream.  That dream was that I was barely getting to Thailand for a wonderful vacation with my family.  I was getting ready to go and see one of my best friends in Thailand, P Ning, and she had no idea we were there.  I woke up to the reality that I wasn’t getting ready to go and see one of my best friends, who lives, as it seems, a world away.  It nearly brought tears to my eyes.  One day, and I long for that day!  Image

I went to tear down the warehouse sale and got back in time to shower and gather up Bekkett’s stuff to go over to Tremonton to get my hair done!  As Greg and I were preparing Bekkett’s stuff, Greg was changing Bekkett’s bum and all of a sudden I hear, “Uh, BABE, Help?!”  I came in and Bekkett had peed all over Greg and himself.  It has been MONTHS since he has done this, so I gave Bekkett a high five and told him good job for peeing on daddy, not me 😉

I dropped Bekkett off at Aunt Jaime’s and off I went to get my hair done.  Thanks to Jessica PoVey, I feel like a new woman!

We came home and delivered a Norwex package to the lovely Janae Langford, who earned $182 in absolutely FREE PRODUCT.  Yay Janae!  Then we headed to Shandi’s house.  They had the kiddie pools up and Bekkett absolutely LOVES to play in the kiddie pools, so we got him changed, I snuggled baby Alia and we chatted as we watched the cousins play.  It is so cute how Niki loves to play with Bekkett.  They are quite cute together!

~My new, fresh hair, and snuggling with Alia.~

As it came time to get Bekkett into dry clothes, he was fighting me to let me put his diaper on, so I let him go around butt naked for a spell.  Suddenly, as he was sitting up, he starts peeing all over his foot.  He just looks up at Shandi and I like, “Uh, what’s going on?” It was quite entertaining.  He makes me laugh and smile every day.

We dropped by Little Caesar’s and grabbed a pizza(I know that this is -10 points for dinner, but it was worth it, cause I have been SO GOOD all week!) and we went to see daddy.  Bekkett ate a whole piece of pizza by himself.  ImageImageImage

And if you couldn’t tell, he absolutely loved it.  He was taking such good bites.  What a big boy.  This was the first time that he ate ALL of the pizza, cheese, pepperoni and all.  I am sure he had wondered why we had been holding out on him for so long.  We enjoyed the picnic on the grass with daddy.  Bekkett was being so cute and snuggly(or as snuggly as a non-snuggler can get).  When we came home, we went on a walk to get the mail and came home for bath time.

Image

And bedtime.  He is snoozing and I am now going to try and get his scrapbook finished(or almost finished) for his first year so it is ready for his birthday party coming up.

And that is a day in MY LIFE.
